GEON has been appointed by Shayher Group to manage the commercial and retail component of the major mixed-use The Hamilton development in Brisbane’s north, strengthening the multi-disciplined property company’s growing management portfolio across Queensland and interstate.
Located within the award‑winning Hamilton precinct, the development at 33 Remora Road is comprised of six buildings, including 3,365sq m of office space and 1,102sq m of retail, occupied by well‑known operators such as Samies Seafoods, medical centre Hamilton Health Hub, Yellowish café and Fadi’s Hair.
The Hamilton, which plays an important role in the area’s ongoing evolution as a vibrant commercial and lifestyle hub, also has 272 residential units.
GEON will provide property management, facilities management, financial management and accounting, along with leasing services, for the commercial and retail components of the precinct.
The appointment comes during a period of strong growth for GEON, which now manages 24 assets valued at approximately $300 million and spanning more than 100,000sq m of retail and commercial space across South East Queensland, regional Queensland and Victoria.
Over the past 12 months, GEON has secured a significant number of new management appointments, including most recently the Paradise Garden Shopping Village in Brisbane’s Thornlands and Winston Glades Shopping Centre in Flinders View in Ipswich, as well as expanding its team, reinforcing the business’s growth trajectory.
Other assets in GEON’s mixed‑use management portfolio includes Smith Collective on the Gold Coast and Fairfield & Co in Townsville.
GEON Chief Executive Officer Dan Moore said the appointment to manage the commercial and retail components of 33 Remora Road marked a major milestone in GEON’s national growth.
“The appointment marks the beginning of GEON’s relationship with Shayher Group, one of Australia’s most respected private property owners and developers,” he said.
“Being selected by Shayher Group is an important endorsement of GEON’s integrated asset management capability. It reflects their confidence in our strong market knowledge, senior leadership and ability to deliver services across complex mixed-use assets.
“We are incredibly excited to take on the management of 33 Remora Road, and we look forward to fostering a long-term, collaborative relationship with our valued client.”
GEON General Manager Property Management Rob Smith said the team was looking forward to working closely with tenants and Shayher Group to ensure a seamless transition.
“33 Remora Road is a high‑quality mixed‑use asset within one of Brisbane’s most dynamic precincts,” Mr Smith said.
“Our focus will be on delivering proactive and responsive hands‑on management, strengthening tenant relationships and experiences and ensuring the asset continues to operate at a high standard.
“We’ll be concentrating on business‑as‑usual optimisation and supporting the long‑term performance of the property.”
Shayher Group Head of Sales and Leasing Craig Hinkins said: “GEON’s responsiveness, market knowledge and collaborative style made them the right fit for The Hamilton.
“We are pleased to welcome them as our management partner and look forward to developing a long‑term relationship that supports the ongoing success of the precinct.”
